Universal charger

Good day. I have two Latitude E6540's which have been in storage for just under 2 years. Neither would boot so the batteries are dead. I bought a universal charger. When i plug the socket in (it says dell on that connector) no light appears to notify charging. Will it require a specific degree of charge before the light will start to show, or (1) are both batteries totally broken or (2) is the charger wrong? I can not see the charger being incorrect. The lowest setting on the charger is 15 and the box says 95w.

Thank you in advance.

You need an OEM Dell charger -- most third party units will power the system but will not complete the logic circuit needed to charge the battery.

That said, a lithium battery that's been stored totally dead for two years is likely permanently that way and will need to be replaced.
