x14 R1, faster connection via WiFi than hard wired?

Hello,

I've been having lag issues when playing Helldivers 2 on my x14.  I have no problem playing at my friend's house who has AT&T Fiber (I have Spectrum), so I know the computer is not an issue and it's the internet

I know, generally speaking, a wired connection is preferred over wireless (faster speed and a more stable connection).  However, it appears my x14 is actually faster when on WiFi (confirmed via speedtest).  I've tried multiple wires and USB C to Ethernet Adapters.  Any idea why my WiFi connection is faster?  It appears drivers, etc. are up to date

It's a vague question as no one know what devices you are comparing to.  Ethernet is limited to 1000 mbps on gigabit devices while WiFi 6 can reach 3000 mbps.  But, you can look up your WiFi specification and comparing to your ethernet specification.  That will be your answer.

Since the issue was not with the device, just connect using WiFi and lagging in game issue will be resolved.

Sorry, some additional information:

I have up to 1 GB of speed through Spectrum

On WiFi, I reach speeds close to 1 GB

When hard wired, though, my speed is only around 700 MB

I'm now starting to think the issue is a USB Ethernet adapter is only so fast, not as fast as a true RJ45 Ethernet port.  Unfortunately, my x14 doesn't have a port.

Is there anything I can do to reach faster speeds when hardwired?  Or am I pretty much stuck?

Also, for gaming, what is preferred: the higher WiFi speed or the stability of a hard-wired connection?

Neither speed of 700 MB or 700 mbps from ethernet would cause lagging in games.

You have had no problem at friend's house, you should not have problem using WiFi at your house.
